This has been a YEAR. . Everywhere I look around m

This has been a YEAR.
.
Everywhere I look around me I see it - we are tired and we are weary. We are in this place of so much unknowing...
.
It feels a lot like our foundation has been shaken - at least I know it feels like mine has...
.
As someone who has battled with mental illness, and worked hard to recover from some very dark places... I have learned that when the ground beneath me feels shaky - it usually means is time to get back to the basics and REALLY hone in on some REAL self-care.
.
Because, friends, we can't operate from a healthy, whole, or productive place when our inner self feels neglected.
.
The irony about this truth is that oftentimes when we NEED self-care the most - it feels the most difficult to actually take care of ourselves.
.
As I considered how it feels right now to be alive - I knew that right now I am feeling called to carve out space to help YOU build. I want to create a safe place - for you to actually take care of YOU.
.
Friends, We need to heal. We need to give ourselves the opportunity to grieve, and breathe, and process all the things. We need to feel supported and uplifted.
.
❤We need hope.❤
.
Maybe it feels a little complicated, to invest in your own self right now with everything around us...
.
But let me remind you of this: As you look toward the future - whatever that might mean - you will be your strongest and most equipped to do amazing things - if you have taken the time first, to take care of YOU.
.
Maybe that looks like building with us in Fearless, or maybe it is something different for you - either way - friend, may I humbly propose that you choose YOU.
.

❤ To LISTEN to your thoughts and feelings - and find ways to let them out of your head...
💛 to give yourself what YOU NEED, and to not apologize for it!
💚 to your OWN self PERMISSION - to do what works for you, and to say NO sometimes too
💙 you are allowed to TRUST YOURSELF, my friend - you deserve to be trusted, you CAN be trusted, and trusting yourself truly is the purest form of self-care.

Taking time for my morning journaling practice is

Taking time for my morning journaling practice is such a soothing practice for my mental health... Even when it feels extra hard... Especially when it feels extra hard... This quiet time is food for a weary soul.
.
Praying for the black community. Praying for justice. Morning so much loss, so much injustice. It is Just. So. Much.
.
Simultaneously, holding the #revealyourteal
cause close all month. Feeling the wounds of sexual abuse that I share with so many other souls... it is all so heavy and it can easily feel so much bigger than me.
.
May I remember I am not powerless (even though little shawna was so often left feeling that way). May I stand up.
May I use my voice. May I say NO, and ENOUGH. May I be the change. May I LIVE OUT LOVE, the kind of love that changes the world. This is my prayer today.
.
